I first heard the haunting voice of Ferns Tosco when she sang “Island Called Boracay” during a food fest night in Kalibo, Aklan. That time I was with the company of the Iloilo City Hall Press Corp, we were on a Lakbay Aral with DOT, touring half of Panay Island. …
I just had another weekend of pure awesomeness! It has been a string of travel weekends for me and last weekend was …
San Antonio Resort – we have discovered an awesome resort in Roxas City, Capiz! I love seafood and if I want my fix of it only one place comes to mind – Roxas. And this time when we went there last month we decided to check out a resort that a friend of mine raved about. San Antonio Resort is slowly becoming popular not only here in Panay but internationally as well. There were a bunch of foreign tourists when we were there. I learned that they offer tour packages as well.
Another great place to go when you’re craving for seafood and you happen to be in Panay is at Estancia. Estancia is known as the Alaska of the Philippines. Before I went there I did not understand why. But when I got to see the fish port I immediately understood why the name – Alaska. All those drums and boxes of seafood at very affordable prices! And it’s also a little bit cold there.

Here’s another installment of our Boracay weekend getaway last July. On our second day we did one of the most enjoyable activities while in Boracay Island, Philippines – the Marine Walk. Marine Walk is a helmet diving system that has been designed for the ultimate underwater experience. We literally walked under the sea, surrounded by fascinating marine life, live corals, and colorful tropical fishes!
I finally know how a ball feels after riding the Zorb in Boracay last July. The Zorb is a new extreme adrenaline rush activity in Boracay and all I can say is that I am definitely doing it again next time I’m there! It’s so much fun riding down a hill harnessed inside a giant plastic ball. If you are craving for a natural high this is one of the best ways to experience it.
I have so many things to be thankful for and one of them is that I am living near the “Seafood Capital of the Philippines.” I love seafood! So last June, Tim and I were craving for them a lot so we decided to go to Roxas City, Capiz and just eat our hearts out with seafood. Roxas City has been a three-time recipient of the Regional Cleanest and Greenest Component City in Western Visayas Award of the Gawad Pangulo sa Kapaligiran Program of the national government.
But it’s okay I know there will be lots of opportunities to go back there again to take those photos. So if ever you go to San Jose, Antique try to check out Bondoc’s Viewing Deck Bar and Restaurant. The food is great, the service crew are awesome, the service is fast, the place is beautiful and the prices reasonable. It is not like the usual restaurant you frequently haunt in the city so be sure to go there! Because I am definitely going back!
Papang used to come to Villa Igang every summer. The place was very peaceful man gihapon because we went there on a Friday before the surge of Holy Week bakasyonitas. It was a refreshing experience.
