Living Life Positively, a Way to Survive Cancer

Last Thursday, January 20th, I had the opportunity to conduct an interview with my aunt who lives somewhere in Antique about the life challenge that she’s currently facing right now. Below are my questions and her honest answers – all in her own words. Please make sure to read this post until the very end so that like me you will learn a lot of lessons in life. To those who are going through the same life challenge, you will also learn facts about chemotherapy and some of its side effects.

The Art of Feeling Good

Like I always say it’s not wrong to feel sad – just don’t do it on a daily basis. That kind of life just sucks. If you are feeling sad, if you are having one of those melancholic days, try to turn on the JOY switch. Sometimes in my case, that switching on will take a lot of prodding, and other times I find that I can switch to happy mode in the blink of an eye. But no matter what it takes, the point is to do it, to switch from feeling down to any notch up from there. How? Let me tell you some simple tricks I’ve learned.

Blame is the Culprit

Blame – as most of us think – is the melodramatic pointing of a finger towards someone who has done something wrong. But in truth, we are actually into blame in just about every waking moment of our days. From the weather, to rude drivers, to how the toothpaste was squeezed, you know the deal. We blame and never think a thing about it. Yeah sure more times than not we are probably justified in our accusations, but so what?!

Nurture an Optimist's Point of View

In life, everyone is always filled with choices. A person may opt to have a pessimist’s view and live a self-defeated, miserable life or may also decide to take the optimist’s route and take a fulfilling and challenging life. People respond positively to optimists. So if you feel like you are losing your friends and alienating people then you should know who has the problem.

Yoga in Iloilo

Yoga practice in Iloilo. So what is yoga? In contrast to the pursuit of your desire as a means to happiness, the purpose of yoga is aimed at the monumental, life-changing discovery of who and what you truly are. This is how yoga works; this is how yoga makes me feel great. Yoga is helping me discover and experience the truth, my truth – which I am discovering, is goodness. That my basic nature is happiness. Yoga truly complements my beliefs.
