Church of Pan-ay in Capiz

Pan-ay, originally called Bamban, was established in 1572. The first church, constructed in 1774 by Fr. Miguel Murguia, was heavily damaged by typhoon in 1875. The present church was constructed in 1884 under the direction of Fr. Jose Beloso who commissioned Don Juan Reine to cast a bell for the church from seventy sacks of coins donated by the townspeople. This bell, the biggest in the Philippines, measures seven feet in diameter, five feet in height and weighs 10,400 kilograms.

Pintados de Pasi 2010

Pintados de Pasi is a commemorative festival when the municipality of Passi became the first component city in the Province of Iloilo with the signing of R.A. 8469 by President Fidel V. Ramos. It has a touch of legend and history showing the way of life, work, rites and celebrations of the early Panayanon. Pintados because of the tattoos that covered their body.

Tim and I watched Up at the movies yesterday and it was as good as I expected it would be. So many heart-warming moments and some lessons in life was also imparted by the movie. I love Russell! My last party night with the Callboxers!

Last Saturday night we went to Ryan’s to check out Rockathon – a battle of the bands activity sponsored by the Xbox committee of Callbox. I realized that this was going to be the last party I’ll attend as a Callbox employee. I have resigned and my last day is going to be on the 4th of November. But I haven’t been to the office for a week now. I kind of miss my friends – especially Shey but I don’t miss being a telemarketer! Thank God I’m over that.

ABBA and the Movie Mamma Mia!

ABBA is a Swedish pop group composed of four members; two guys and two gals. They are Benny Andersson, Agnetha Faltskog, Anni-Frid Lyngstad and Bjorn Ulvaeus. What I know about their group I learned from Papang. Benny Andersson actually co-produced the film version of the musical Mamma Mia! Thank God he did!
