My Gratitude List

mjcnI’ve been filled with joy, love, and contentment these past few days. Friends who are close to me know why. So I decided to make a gratitude list which will go on everyday and as long as I want. If you’d like to join me please feel free to do so.

The human mind has this tendency to drift toward the negative instead of the positive. Undeniably for some people, it is effortless to mentally and verbally complain instead of directing the mind towards gratitude. And I really don’t want that to happen to me so I’m always mindful of the goings-on in my mind. Read: Think happy thoughts. ;)

If you want to feel better everyday instead of ranting and thinking negative thoughts towards anyone, why don’t you start making a gratitude list instead? Practicing daily gratitude will help you feel better about life and will also make you feel more optimistic.

To start with, make a list of the things that you are grateful for everyday. Be specific and personal. There is really no formula in doing this, just get a pen or paper, use the notepad of your phone, whatever’s available. You can keep your list or throw it away, just do it now and reap the benefits.

Here’s my gratitude list for today.. :)

I am grateful for..

1. Tim’s love (naks!)
2. Happy family.
3. The overflowing love I feel from the people that surrounds me.
4. Wonderful friends.
5. A great internet connection which enables me to do my work undisturbed.
6. No brown outs!
7. Great healthy food.
8. Good health!
9. Great books.
10. Music.
11. A good night’s sleep and waking up.
12. Oxygen!
13. Great books.
14. All the good things!

A gratitude list will improve how you feel about life. It will improve your relationship with the people around you as well. The feeling of gratitude will also improve your view of your financial picture. Because you are thankful for everything that you have, you will unlikely feel envy instead of pining for something else. It will also make it easier for you to live within your means. Makes it easier for you to be generous to others.

Once you start feeling the goodness that your gratitude list brings to your life, you will surely feel joy and peace. Just keep it up and please feel free to share your own gratitude list in the comments section below. Have fun!
