Contentment and Appreciation

I have learned a few years ago, actually in 2008, about the same time that I started this blog, that if I want to live a joyful and peaceful life, I must BE CONTENTED and BE APPRECIATIVE.

Once I became aware of the sense of peace and contentment that came from being able to appreciate my place and purpose in this universe, everything fell into place.

So you ask me just how I arrived in this conclusion with all the complexities and pressures of our current lifestyles. Well it’s actually really simple. It is a matter of becoming aware of what I truly HAVE as opposed to what my EGO believes I need. And if you too care to look closely, you may find that your ego ‘needs’ are merely desires. It’s as simple as that.

The next time you find yourself longing for something, stop and ask yourself these questions,

  • What is missing from my life?
  • Is it really a need?
  • What are the essential qualities of what I seek?
  • How will I be able to experience that now?
