**This is a re-post of Hon. Juan Miguel Flores’ post on Facebook. I am a proud Ogtonganon and I hope this will reach some Ogtonganons as well. This will really help our parish. Two thumbs up to Migs for taking care of our church and its surroundings. We need more people like you! And like I said on Facebook – just keep on doing what you’re doing, there will always be people willing to help an honest person who has honest goals.
If the parish of Molo has a solemn place for wakes, Jaro has a sociable place for wedding receptions, Oton has nothing. IT’S TIME!
Prominently called as our parish “social hall”, we are now in the process of gathering help and raising funds to build a new parish “pastoral center”.
The small social hall is now in a dilapidated condition and it is timely to build something that makes the full use of its strategic location. In fact, its potential is enormous because it can serve as a venue for retreat and seminars, wedding celebrations, baptisms, wakes, celebrate daily masses on weekdays, relief center operations, etc. Moreover, it can house the offices of our pastoral ministries and meetings of the parish councils and the LOMAS.
On December 4, 2010, Saturday, 7pm, we will have a fund raising “Dinner for the Lord” to be held in the Oton Amphitheater Green. Tickets are sold for only Php 500 or Php 1,000. Be entertained as you help make this dream come true! For ticket reservations, please contact Hon. Juan Miguel Flores or the Parish Office @ (033) 3360995.
Donations to this project can also be deposited at BANCO DE ORO Iloilo-Molo Branch, under Peso Savings Account No. 0830123121, of the Parish of the Immaculate Conception, Oton, Iloilo.
In brief, the Parish Pastoral Center is both a spiritual and pastoral facility, and our support for its construction is a form of faith response to the needs of today and the future.
Thank You and GOD BLESS OGTONGANONS!
