So there I was working my arse off last night, actually it was very early this morning around 5:49AM Philippine Time, multi-tasking and plurking with my plurky friends when one friend plurked that Michael Jackson has passed away. I couldn’t believe the shocking news at first so I googled it and I read that he had suffered a cardiac arrest. He collapsed at the mansion that he was renting at the exclusive neighborhood of Holmby Hills in Los Angeles. He was rushed by paramedics to UCLA Medical Center where physicians battled for more than an hour to revive the King of Pop before he was pronounced dead.
Well before the bad news was confirmed me and my Plurk friends were actually not very sure if Michael Jackson really did passed away (I’m using these words for Heather *hugs*) because TMZwas the only site online that’s actually reporting it while CNN and Reuters were all mum about it and were just reporting that Michael was just in a state of coma. We were all hoping that he was only just in a coma and not dead. But our hopes were crushed when CNN and Reuters did report that the King of Pop has actually passed away.
This was a very unexpected and shocking news to all of Michael Jackson’s fans. Before this day he was scheduled to have a long-awaited series of comeback concerts. Nobody expected this to happen but he was after all very sick and I won’t elaborate on this note. But we are all only human and death is a certainty. So what we can do now is pray for him and hope that he rests in peace. The King of Pop’s music will live on forever!
Here’s my favorite Michael Jackson song – “Heal The World”
One more step and I will be officially enrolled at CAP College! I already have my official Transcript of Records from WVSU (with the weird grades) and my Honorable Dismissal as well so nothing’s barring my way in getting that diploma (except studying, exams and tuition fees, LOL) ! Tim is very proud of me. And I hope my parents are as well. I really badly want to graduate from college. So no one should go nega on me now alright? I don’t want pessimists around me.
So wait until I tell you all that I am officially enrolled! Like Tim keeps telling me – FOCUS!
On July 4th, the DigitalFilipino.com Club is organizing a fellowship/networking event where e-commerce industry players and bloggers can catch up and exchange updates. This will be on a Saturday, from 6PM-11PM at the Lobby Lounge, Casino Filipino, Goldenfield Commercial Complex, Singcang, Bacolod City. So if you’re a blogger from Bacolod and Iloilo this is our chance to meet up and get to know each other offline! It would be really nice to finally see and get to know everyone.
The event is sponsored by DigitalFilipino.com club member PAGCOR.
You don’t have to worry because this event is FREE so bloggers are very much welcome to attend! So if you’re a blogger from the Negros Island or if you’re from Iloilo like me you can RSVP to the networking event by leaving a comment HERE. This is our chance to finally meet up!
I was offline for a couple of days because we attended the CFC-Singles for Christ: FORWARD IN CHRIST Provincial Conference at Maasin, Iloilo. It was a 2-day affair which started on Saturday, June 13th and lasted until noon of Sunday, June 14th. The theme of the conference was “Every single man and woman all over the world experiencing Christ.” We got to meet a lot of brothers and sisters from all over the province of Iloilo and we also got to bond with our Oton brothers and sisters. We had fun and it was really good to know that a lot of single people are still following Christ.
Here’s an excerpt of what we learned from the conference:
