Boracay Here We Come!

Wednesday, April 29th, 2009

boracay_palm_trees1 I’m writing this post just for the key word and see if how many people will stumble upon my blog if I rant about Boracay!

Anyway,we’re going to the beach! And not just the beach but the best beach in the Philippines! We’re actually going to Boracay! It’s the place to really hang out and chill, have fun with friends because it’s bursting with life! Just what I need! LOL

I will be going with Sev (my brother), Dianne (Sev’s girl and of course Tim (who else?!).

The best thing about my work is that you can do it anywhere as long as you have a laptop or computer with internet connection. So I’ll be working while vacationing. Not bad. I”m thinking of it as having a vacation while working not the other way around. Haha.

Although I’m not sure if I could write once I’m there. Go figure!

I’m so excited! Right now I’m just finishing all my tasks for the day so I won’t have to worry or think about anything later. Peace of mind is the key to a peaceful and satisfying vacation.

2 more hours to go and I’ll be gone!

Goodbye Grey’s Anatomy, I’ll be back!

We’re gonna have fun fun fun!

And this is completely off topic but I just don’t like people who doesn’t like Taylor Swift. Geesh I’m such a kid. LOL.

Well I’m out! Will blog about our vacation when I come back home and take some photos so I could make all you guys jealous and therefore make you all go on vacation too!

On Saturday will be Mamang’s birthday and we might go to Punta Villa too so we have to be back before that. And on Sunday Manny Pacquiao will make us proud again and we will be watching the fight at SM City Cinema for more fun fun fun!

I have a great life don’t I? ;)

I Watched Hannah Montana The Movie!

Tuesday, April 21st, 2009

hannah_montana_the_movie_movie_posterLast night when I have finished all my tasks for the day I decided to watch Grey’s Anatomy online again. I reward myself by watching Grey’s Anatomy every time I finish my work. Even though I have practically watched all the episodes already I still don’t get tired of that soap. And I never will. Back to the topic, not many people know that I am also a fan of Miley Cyrus a.k.a. Hannah Montana. I think only Tim, my brothers and Monica knows that I have watched all Hannah Montana episodes. Yes I did. People think it’s kinda weird that a girl my age still watches these kind of sitcoms. Even my friends in Plurk laugh at me and says I’m a weird lady. LOL. But it’s really not that hard to believe, I’m a sucker for feel good movies and any show, sitcom or soap that makes me feel good. And Disney has a lot of those. Although I don’t like the Jonas Brothers, High School Musical or Camp Rock. They’re too “ugh” and “duh!”

So last night I was supposed to watch Grey’s Anatomy but when I opened the site where I watch all my shows online I saw a link of Hannah Montana: The Movie! It’s finally available online. So instead of watching Grey’s Anatomy I watched the movie instead. I started being curious with Hannah Montana when I heard Miley Cyrus’s single “7 Things“. I saw the music video on MYX and it made me want to find out about her and why Hannah Montana is such a big hit with youngsters and well, some girl’s my age. LOL. When I started watching the first episode I was hooked! It wasn’t so bad after all. It’s not cheesy and ugh and duh like the other Disney shows. It made me think of Two of a Kind . I loved that show too. So yeah, I watched all Hannah Montana episodes until I got to finish them all and I still wait for the latest episodes to be available online so I could watch them as well.

Hannah Montana: The Movie as we Hannah fans know is the film adaptation of the popular sitcom and it stars Miley Cyrus as Miley Stuart with her alter-ego Hannah Montana, Billy Ray Cyrus as Robby Ray StuartEmily Osment as Lilly Truscott/Lola Luftnagle, Mitchel Musso as Oliver Oken/Mike Standley III, Moises Arias as Rico, Margo Martindale as Ruby (Robby Ray’s Mom), Melora Hardin as Lorelei (Robby Ray’s love interest), Jason Earles as Jackson Stewart (I love his antics!), Barry Bostwick as himself (he’s the owner of the company intent in developing Crowley Corners which is Hannah’s hometown), Peter Gunn as Oswald (the slimey reporter/paparrazzi), Lucas Till as Travis Brody (Miley’s love interest, he has a crush on Miley since their childhood), Beau Billingslea as the Town Mayor and Vanessa Williams as Hannah’s publicist. There were also cameo roles by Tyra Banks, Steve Rushton, the Rascall Flatts, Marcel, Bucky Covington, William Gentner and Taylor Swift who sang “Crazier” at the charity concert to save Crowley Corners.

I won’t tell you guys what the movie is all about because I don’t want to spoil it for you. I want you to watch it so you’ll understand why I love this movie and why I’m thinking of watching it again. I’ll tell you a secret — I was teary-eyed when Miley decided to give up Hannah Montana forever and she thanked everyone for letting her live her dream. The movie soundtrack is also bursting with a lot of cool new songs from Hannah Montana and other artists. I have downloaded them all! LOL. You will surely dance to “Hoedown Throwdown” sang by Miley Cyrus, be touched by “Butterly Fly Away” by Miley Cyrus and Billy Ray Cyrus and many more songs.

So now that I have written this blog post I know some of my Plurker friends will laugh at me and tease me but I really don’t care. LOL. But I know they understand that I’m really a kid at heart and I just love being happy. Hannah Montana makes me happy.  This is just me being optimistic. Connect the dots. Watch Hannah Montana: The Movie now and tell me what you think. ;)

Ted Failon is Not Guilty

Monday, April 20th, 2009

ted-failonI don’t believe that Ted Failon killed his wife. I don’t know him personally but still everyone’s entitled to their own opinion right? Ted Failon (born Mario Teodoro Failon Etong)  as we all know is one of the news anchors at ABS-CBN’s TV Patrol news program which airs weekdays from Monday-Friday. He also has a radio program on DZMM.

Ted Failon’s wife, Trina Failon Etong was brought to the hospital last Wednesday and she fought for her life until the night of April 16th when she succumbed to the gunshot wound on her head. I really don’t have to write all the facts and details here because I already know that almost everyone knows what happened. I just want to sympathize with Ted Failon and his 2 daughters who are going through all this dreadful ordeal with the media and police while they are mourning the loss of their loved one. I don’t know if it is true that the police are building a case against Ted Failon because they want to get back against Ted and ABS-CBN. Ted Failon is also a well-known critic of Malacanang. I read somewhere on the web that the big shots up there in the palace and the police department are making such a fuss on Ted Failon’s case because there are promotions and appointments involved. Hhhmmm. I smell something fishy. When Miriam Santiago’s son committed suicide there never was an investigation. The case was immediately closed. Miriam Santiago is also a prominent personality but why are there different procedures being applied? And if the police are such smart people why can’t they even do simple SOP like reading the Miranda Doctrine to the helpers and relatives of the Etong family when they were arrested? Things like this really make one think if there really is a case or if they’re just trying to make a case.

So okay, we shouldn’t rule out foul play. And there’s the “obstruction of justice case” against Ted Failon and his driver and helpers. I agree that they did obstruct justice in this case. But that is all the case there should be. I believe that the helpers cleaned out the crime scene because they didn’t want Ted Failon’s youngest daughter to see all that blood inside their house and in the car as well. That wasn’t a smart thing to do but helpers aren’t really smart people right? As my father said, if all helpers were smart and intelligent people they wouldn’t just be helpers. They would’ve been lawyers, doctors, broadcasters or even police officers.

I am going to be looking out for all the developments in this case and I will be updating this post as well. I just hope that the police will do their job well and not think of each of their personal gain. Ted Failon is just a media-man who does his job well. There’s no point in revenge. We should just respect their family’s privacy instead. There are more crimes out there that needs the police’s attention. Like corruption perhaps?

Jesus You Are My Bestfriend!

Sunday, April 19th, 2009

jesusParis Hilton might be looking for BFFs but I have a BFF that she might want to meet too. My BFF is much more richer than Paris Hilton. He has given me life and a wonderful family. He has given me the best man. He has given me the best kind of friends. He has taught me a lot of lessons in life. He is always there when I need him, He doesn’t let me down and I know He never will. He gives me everything I want as long as it’s going to be for my betterment. He showers me with countless gifts, most of them priceless. He always listens to my rantings. Even if people don’t read every post of my blog I really don’t care because I know that He is always reading my blog posts although He doesn’t leave me a comment. LOL. He knows me better than everyone else. I can enumerate and list down countless things that my best friend is doing for me, but I can’t remember them all and it might take a lot of time but what matters is  that He knows I appreciate everything that He’s done for me. I know I am not the “best” best friend but still he doesn’t give up on me. He’s still always there. Thank you so much Jesus – for being my best friend.

Well I just got home after hearing Mass at our Parish. I attended the 5AM Mass which was celebrated by Monsignor Gamboa. I am not used to going to church that early but I made an exception this time because my Singles for Christ community is the scheduled choir for the Mass. Last night we practiced the songs  we will sing for the Mass until 10PM then I slept for like a couple of hours only because when I arrived home I had to do my daily tasks and then prepare my clothes for the Mass before I went to bed. I have trouble sleeping at night because being the nocturnal creature that I am – I’m used to working the night shift. But I did what I always do whenever I have trouble sleeping. And I will recommend this to everyone too! It has been one of my secrets but I decided to write it here in my blog so that people reading my posts will also discover this awesome cure for insomnia and be much closer to God as well. I talk to Jesus if I have trouble sleeping. Now how can I talk to Jesus? Well it’s this way – I don’t just pray, I also have a conversation with Jesus. Although He is not “answering” me I know and feel that He’s listening to me. I tell Him all the things I did on that day. I tell Him my worries, my problems. I thank Him for everything. I give Him praise. And I ask for His guidance for the next day again.Try it tonight, having a lengthy conversation with God instead of just praying will give you a peaceful mind therefore make you sleep peacefully as well.

Singing in the choir with SFC is just one of my ways of thanking Jesus and giving back. I know that it’s just a minor thing compared to everything He’s done for me but still in my own little ways I show Him my love and thanks. I just hope I will be with Him in heaven too. Make Jesus your best friend too starting today! I know you won’t regret it. After all, who wants paparazzis following you every second when your BFF is Paris Hilton right? ;)

Hoy Angela!

Tuesday, April 7th, 2009

You guys are probably wondering why the title of this post is “Hoy Angela.” If you really want to know – just ask Monica. LOL

I’m not really in the mood to write right now so I’m going to make this post something like a list without the numbers and bullet points. I just want to document our vacation without writing a full-pledged post. Before I forget all the things we did and the places we went to.

Last Saturday, April 4th me and my friends went to Guimaras. We had to ride a pumpboat to get to Buenavista. Then we headed to Kix’s beautiful house. It’s very relaxing there.

I was with Rino John(my little brother), Monica, Amy, Irene and Tim. Tawtaw and Kix met us up at the Buenavista wharf. Then we went to Kix’s awesome house. The ambiance there is like a rest house or a cottage at the beach. How I wish I could go back there. I might ask Kix if I could. ;)

We ate a delicious lunch prepared by Kix’s Tita. We were surprised because we didn’t expect them to prepare our lunch. We brought lechon manok but what we had was more delicious than lechon manok. Thanks to Kix, Taw, her Tita and her cousins.

After lunch we went to El Retiro Beach. Then to Roca Encantada. It is a big mansion built on top of a rock owned by the Lopezes. We got to go up the mansion and look at the view and it’s structure. Had our photos taken there. Maybe we could all have a house like that someday. Who knows. :)

Then after Roca Encantada we walked on the beach’s shore. We planned to bath and swim there but we couldn’t because there was heavy rains earlier that morning so the water was murky and there were big waves. So Kix and Taw suggested that we go to La Cheska instead and dive in the pool there. Which we did. And we had a great time. There’s nothing like a dip in the pool after a walk at the beach with your very close friends.

When we had our fill of the pool, we went back to Kix’s house again to prepare our dinner. Roland, Amy’s boyfriend arrived later that afternoon. After dinner, we had fun by having a long conversation and catching up on all our lives and gossip girl activities. LOL.  Kix, Taw and I have all resigned from Callbox last year. Irene is going to transfer to Callbox Davao. Monica is resigning this coming May and Amy is just planning to resign but no definite date yet. We talked about so many things, our experiences at Callbox and the people we worked with. Well good thing I’m over that. We went to sleep in the wee hours of the morning. We did some other stuffs but I won’t write them here. It’s our secret. Right guys? ;)

The next day, April 5th, after we ate breakfast we all decided to go to Jordan – to Alubihod Beach. Actually Monica insisted that we go to Alubihod. So we went there and we rented a cottage at Rico’s Beach Resort. Monica finally got what she wanted! LOL. We had fun bathing at the clean beach with the white sand, the caves and the big rocks. There were a lot of people there but not that much. I bet this Holy Week there are more.

We went home later in the afternoon. This time we rode the pumpboat from Jordan wharf to Iloilo City. We were all dead-tired and sleepy but it was worth it because we all had fun and enjoyed our weekend. Words can’t describe the feelings and the experiences we had. It was really great seeing you all guys! Thanks to Kix because she allowed us to stay in their beautiful house and for being our tour guide. Thanks also to all her cousins and relatives who were very accommodating. I just hope and pray that they’ll allow us to go there again. I’m loving the memories. It’s great to catch up with all of you guys! :)

I have uploaded our photos on my different accounts but I have the complete set in my Picasa album. If you wanna see them feel free to do so. The link to the album is below. See my sexy friends! LOL.

And lastly, if you’re curious to know the meaning behind the title of this post, feel free to leave me a comment and I’ll tell. LMAO. :)

What did I do?

Friday, April 3rd, 2009

Okay I just received an email from a Mother of  a blogger who frequents this blog. I don’t want to mention this blogger’s name because I don’t want to fire up her mother. I understand her mother’s sentiments but I just want to clear a few things up. And I don’t want to reply to her email too because she’s “keeping a close watch” and my email address has been “blocked to date.” And again – I don’t want to make an enemy of someone’s Mom.

So here’s the email that I’m talking about. I published it here so the mother will know that it’s her email that I’m talking about. And to let her know that she’s the first person who did this to me. Apparently she’s checking out my blog too so this is how I’m going to communicate with her.

Read her email first then read what I have to say in the end:

Mary Jane,

This is ****’s Mom. Dad and I do not find it appropriate for an adult to be corresponding or soliciting a facebook profile from a young child. I realize that she blogged you back in the fall and that she is very precocious for her age. This child is not even a teenager yet. Her exact age you may not have known but you did know that she was a minor judging from your correspondence with her. She knew better than to give out personal information, including her name. Something we have reiterated with her about.

Per your blog and information I have viewed on the internet, you claim to be of Christian faith and in education. Therefore I can expect the correct response from you by NOT continuing to befriend a child from another country of which the parents have not granted permission.

I ask that you do the right thing and no longer respond to my ‘very’ minor child or contact her in any way possible; including making responses on the blog she invited you in on. Children are very impressionable and as a parent, I have cautioned her long before she violated her father’s and my wishes by writing to a stranger…you. Something we are working on but need your assistance by not responding to future inquiries. You have adult friends. Write to them. Not to these children. They have great community teachers, involved parents, and youth groups for them to speak to.

I will pull the plug on these types of activities the day I hear or see another line of communication from someone I have not met and that she does not know. I am sure that you can understand my concern and will honor my request. This child has many friends, and will continue to make friends in everything she does. Her outgoing personality and winning smile will take her far; I just don’t want to see it happen before she is age appropriate and mature enough to handle what the world can dump in her lap.

I will be keeping a close watch. Your email address has been blocked to date.

Not pleased.

Let’s call these frequent visitor of my blog “Young Child” (that’s what her mom called her). I think she’s 12-13 years old. First of all, for the benefit of those who don’t know, Young Child was the one who visited my blog first and left me numerous comments. And being the NICE blogger that I am, I always make it a point to reply to my visitors by replying to the comments that they leave me. I reply through email and/or writing a comment too. It’s like SOP for us bloggers right? We do that because we’re nice and we appreciate people reading our posts and taking the time to leave us comments. So back to the topic. Young Child is a frequent visitor and she sent me emails and even if I’m a busy working girl I see to it that I reply to her emails too. Because Young Child is very friendly. And she was asking for advise. Yes she was asking for advise about friendship and boy problems. I am not a guidance counselor and I sensed that she was “young” so those advises were wholesome and appropriate for someone young. I mean I went through all that before too! But eventually I stopped replying to her emails because I got busy and I had tons of stuff to do.

Now let’s go to this FaceBook business. So Young Child’s email address is on my contacts list (together with everyone else’s). When I signed up for FaceBook, what I did was I used FaceBook’s application which enables me to send invitations to my friends and contacts’s email addresses that are on my email account’s contacts list.  And Young Child got that invitation too. Along with everyone else’s. It’s only an invitation and I am not FORCING anyone to be my friend on FaceBook. Get that? I’m explaining this because I want to clear things up that I am not targeting Young Child alone. I don’t effing care if people will respond to that invitation or not.

Yes I am a Roman Catholic and I was educated at a Catholic school so I am honoring your request of not corresponding with your daughter anymore. In fact I haven’t emailed her or visited her blog in a long time. But she on the other hand has been sending/forwarding me emails almost every day. Just ask her. And as far as I remember I haven’t replied to those emails at all.

And I don’t really understand what you mean when you wrote that I “shouldn’t continue to befriend a child from another country whose parents have not granted permission.” You mean I have to get permission from every blogger’s parents to befriend their son or daughter now? Is that how it works there? I thought your country is a free country. Or is it just within your family? Whatever I don’t want to generalize.  And why use the words “from another country?” Do you have anything against people from other countries? Do you have anything against Filipinos? Why did you say that? But be assured that I AM NOT CORRESPONDING WITH YOUR DAUGHTER ANYMORE.

Yes I know I am a stranger blah blah. Your daughter is a stranger to me too you know. Yet I wasted my time replying to her emails. And why does she spend too much time online anyway. Doesn’t she have people to talk to that she makes it up by trying to make friends with bloggers like me? Think about that for a minute.

I didn’t mean any harm to your daughter. I am a good person who enjoys blogging and making friends online. And in case you don’t know I am not the only person who does. Just check out other people’s blogs. I know you are parents and you’re just protecting your child. I understand that. But do you really have to be rude to me? I think you have read of too many suicides, cyber bullying or those kinds of stuff that bad people do online. But I am not one of those “bad people.” I am not a bad person. I just wanna clear that up.

I don’t even know if you and your daughter are really who you say you are. I have a good part of my life and personality written all over this blog and I bet you know lots of things about me already. But I don’t know a thing about you. How would I know that you’re even for real? That you’re not one of my stalkers? How can I be sure that you’re not a bad person? My parents will be concerned if they read about this too. And you will get me in trouble as well. You see, it goes both ways.

I understand everyone have to protect their privacy and security online. That’s why even if you read lots about me here in my blog. You won’t find my exact address here or where I work or anything really personal. I value my privacy. There are lots of sick people out there. And I’m not even sure if you’re not one of them.

So with all that said I hope you understand my side of the story. Your email adress has been blocked too.

What do you have to say about these guys?

Help me choose my course!

Wednesday, April 1st, 2009

hpim25171

My mother graduated – AGAIN – today.  She has a Master’s Degree in Special Education now (I’m not sure with this, I have to ask her tomorrow. :) ) And my cousins -  JoyJoy, Bubbles, Arvee and Apple have all graduated from college this week too. My brother Sev will graduate next year as well. Which makes me rather envious. And makes me want to pursue my studies more. Which is why I visited CAP College’s site again and the reason why I’m writing this post.

Help me choose my course. I decided not to pursue BS IT anymore because I think I’m learning a lot more of IT  in my work. And I want to study something that is not related to my work. I want something interesting, so I won’t get tired of “studying” and with the course itself. In fact I feel like I don’t need to finish college anymore because I already have a nice job which pays the bills and all other stuffs. But one of my dreams is to finish college and get that diploma! It’s one of the things I want to do before I die. I feel like I owe it to myself , to my parents and to my bebeh. I want them all to be proud of me.

So back to the topic, what should I study? Should I continue and finish my Bachelor of Arts in English course or should I shift to Bachelor of Arts in Psychology instead? If I continue with AB English, it’s going to be a lot easier and I will have more credited subjects. But it’s going to be boring and not so very challenging. But with AB Psychology, I’ll be learning about human behavior in all kinds of aspects. It’s interesting and I think I can use it in my job. And I bet it won’t be boring too. But it will take more time though. So what do you think guys? Help me choose my course.  Give me more pros and cons. Thanks! :)
